There is never a combination of zodiac signs that cannot work. There definitely are some relationship combinations that require hard work, compromise and tears. For Taurus and Gemini, this is very much the case. The positive side is that astrology can help these two signs to understand their differences and the compromises that must be made to make it a happy relationship.
Fixed Earth Meets Mutable Air
Taurus is an earth sign and Gemini is an air sign – two elements that do not mix. What is more, Taurus is a fixed sign whilst Gemini is a mutable sign (flexible, adaptable, varied). Taurus is only happy with a firm routine and comfortable nights in, whilst Gemini is only happy living every day differently from the last. They are sociable and outgoing. Gemini will want to spend their money on having fun and going out whilst Taurus is always wanting to save money or use it almost solely on practical things and comfort buys.
Possessive Taurus & Flighty Gemini
Taurus is also very possessive over their partners whilst Gemini is completely unpossessable. This can cause huge problems in any relationship between them. It is a time for compromise but this is easier said than done.
Gemini is naturally someone who will act for fun and loves trying new things. They will struggle to understand Taurus’s desire to settle down and build a solid home; hording as much money and comfort as they can. Flitting from exciting new thing to exciting new thing is who Gemini is. It is not something they would, or could, easily give up. For Taurus to try and possess them will only destroy Gemini’s flighty, lovable spirit or, more likely, cause Gemini to leave.
Tough Compromises Can Pay Off
It might seem straight forward that Taurus must not be possessive over Gemini; but it is anything but that simple. Taurus is naturally a very placid sign and it is sometimes easy to forget what power lies behind that placidity, but when they do decide to dig their heels in there is nothing will have them change their mind.
Gemini’s natural witty charm and Taurus’ artistic flair will make them very good friends or business partners. It must also be said that on occasions, if both people have the rights aspects in their horoscope, the match can work. If there is a Taurus, for example, who can laugh at Gemini’s complete lack of practicality rather than become frustrated with it then that is a positive sign. If Gemini can broaden Taurus' horizons and get them out and about then there is definitely hope. There are only two problems facing the compatibility between Taurus and Gemini - Taurus' possessiveness and their opposite approaches to fun and security - but these are very large issues. Both partners must be serious and willing to make compromises.
